Texas’s SB 4 has been in the news — and in the courts. What are my rights under Texas’ migrant deportation law, Senate Bill 4 (SB4)? How did we get to this point? Does it apply to all migrants? While an appeals court has once again put SB4 on pause, the law is making its way through the courts system, which could issue a formal ruling on the law at any time. Readers are invited to a public Zoom event at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 4 where we unpack SB4 with Jennefer Canales-Pelaez from Immigrant Legal Resource Center; Parker Sheffy from University of Houston Law Center; and Harris County Commissioner Adrian Garcia. They’ll be joined by the Chronicle’s assistant city editor Codell Rodriguez. Part of the event will be conducted in Spanish, as well as English. |
