In Middle Eastern and North African Immigrants in the United States, Brandon Marrow and Jeanne Batalova for the Migration Policy Institute look at immigration to the United States from the Middle East and North Africa, which is longstanding and multifaceted, and has grown especially quickly in recent years.

The analysis states that, compared to other immigrants to the United States, the 1.2 million people from the Middle East and North Africa are more likely to be proficient in English, have graduated college, and be a U.S. citizen. This article provides an overview of this group, more than one-quarter of which lives in the greater New York, Detroit, or Los Angeles areas.
