Bill to Be Introduced to Protect DACA Recipents?

U.S. Representative. Sylvia Garcia (D-Texas) will introduce legislation providing relief to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients.  She first introduced the American Dream and Promise Act in 2021 and refiled the bill in 2023. It failed to pass both times.   For details, see Houston Public Media.

President Donald Trump said in December 2024 that he believes DACA recipients should be allowed to stay in the country.
