Immprof Virgil Wiebe (St. Thomas) has been handing out amazing podcast tips of late, including the following– The Immigration Crisis: The Fight for the Southern Border podcast with it’s episode Military Lines Redrawn: Trump Administration finds new way to secure the border (5/8/25, 31m).

It turns out the podcast has visuals if you listen via Youtube.

It’s worth the 30 minute investment. I found it to be a very clear explanation of the legal authority for expanding bases along the Southern border, charging migrants with trespassing on those bases, and posse commitatus. It also provided clear analysis of why some are concerned about the use of military troops to enforce U.S. immigration law.
