UFW “No Access to ICE” Campaign

United Farm Workers (UFW) has launched a “No Access to ICE” door/window sign (downloadable at the link below), meant to help shield homes and workplaces from unauthorized enforcement activity. This practical defense tool quietly asserts legal protections and community solidarity. Safeguarding spaces, preserving livelihood, and bolstering collective resilience are essential steps toward ensuring justice and dignity for all.

President Trump’s landmark “One Big Beautiful Bill” — a sweeping package including massive tax cuts, border enforcement funds, and steep reductions to safety-net programs like Medicaid and food stamps — cleared Congress just before July 4th. While bill supporters tout its economic gains and funding for border security, critics highlight its potential to strip coverage from millions and deepen inequality. 

Rural, immigrant, and agricultural communities face disproportionate impacts; the new law’s deep cuts to core social services threaten to erode significant access to healthcare, nutrition, and education for working families. When farmworkers lose access to healthcare or food assistance, harvest seasons get disrupted, family stability falters, and rural residents especially feel the strain.
