Protesters Go to the Streets in Los Angeles After Immigration Operations

Rodriguez for the Associated Press report that, after federal immigration authorities arrested more than 40 people Friday across Los Angeles, protesters gathered outside an immigrant “detention center demanding their release before police in riot gear tossed tear gas canisters to disperse the crowd.”
Update (June 8): The Associated Press reports that ” President Donald Trump is deploying 2,000 California National Guard troops to Los Angeles over the objections of Gov. Gavin Newsom after a second day of clashes between hundreds of protesters and federal immigration authorities in riot gear.” Stay tuned.
