DOJ Immigration News: (1) AUSAs Moving to Border: (2) Suit Against Sheriff For Not Holding Noncitizen for ICE

Bloomberg has the following news about the DOJ & Immigration:

On the “not exactly surprising” side of things… US Attorneys have been informed that AUSAs will be recruited to go to the border to fight the migrant “invasion.”

On the “whoo boy, that’s surprising” side of things… “DOJ will be pursuing criminal charges against a local sheriff’s office employee in upstate New York for facilitating a sanctuary city, as the administration takes aim at local policies that limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.”

The NY Times has more information about the criminal charges. The “employee” is Sheriff Derek R. Osborne of Tompkins County in Ithaca, NY.
