Will Unaccompanied Minors/Border Crisis Kill Comprehensive Immigration Reform?
Last month’s ImmigrationProf guest blogger Ediberto Roman on the Faculty Lounge expresses pessimism about the prospects for immigration reform in light of the much-publicized “crisis” on the U.S./Mexico border. Unfortunately, the so-called crisis may be more of a political ploy to derail meaningful reform than an actual “crisis.” And, if a crisis exists, it is a humanitarian one created by the Trump administration and its dismantling of the infrastructure for processing asylum applications.
