Linda E. Sanchez, a Ph.D. candidate in sociocultural anthropology at the University of California, Irvine has published a new article in Sapiens Anthropology Magazine. It it, she discusses her research on immigrants who have been unable to receive protection under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). She argues that current U.S. immigration policies treat the lives of undocumented people as “expendable.” And, she emphasizes that “the pandemic has made visible the vulnerabilities that many undocumented immigrants in the U.S. face on a daily basis.”
