Detention-Gate? Officials Hid Truth About Immigrant Deaths in Detention

Nina Bernstein of the New York Times has written a troubling story about how the U.S. government, including officials in the Obama administration, has sought to effectively cover-up the deaths of immigrants held in detention.   

At a time when detention is an important tool in immigration enforcement, the public has the right to know what is happening in our detention facilities.  And, isn’t it time that the Obama administration issue regulations governing detention, which to this point it has refused to do?
