Immigrant of the Day: Patricia Fennell (Ecuador)

Patricia Fennell is an immigrant from Ecudaor who is now the President of the Latino Community Development Agency in Oklahoma. She is an outspoken advocate for LAtinos in Oklahoma.

The LCDA is a haven for Latinos in and around Oklahoma City.  It is a place where Latinos take advantage of a vast array of services — English classes, computer classes, a bilingual child development center, a senior citizens center, health clinics.  The Oklahoma County Health Department works regularly with the agency, even coming to its building to provide free health screenings. Other agencies also provide services. Pople are free to speak Spanish and be understood by Spanish speakers who want to help them.
