Latino USA on immigration, hate crimes, and the courts

, with Maria Hinojosa, focuses this week on the courts and the rights of immigrants, both those in the U.S. with documentation and the undocumented. There is a report on hate crimes on Latinos.  In addition, the office of the Inspector General of the Department of Homeland Security has issued a report calling into question the provisions of “Section 287(g)” — which allows local police enforcement of Federal immigration law. Also — deportation as a consequence of a guilty plea: the Supreme Court on the right to counsel. And — the music of jazz saxophonist Miguel Zenon.
