Immigrant Rights Advocates of the Day: Tan Tran and Cinthya Felix RIP

Tam Tran (27) and Cinthya Felix (26) tragically died yesterday in a car crash in Maine. Both completed their undergraduate degrees at UCLA.  Cinthya was a founding member of the undocumented youth group at UCLA (IDEAS) and the first undocumented student admitted to Columbia University’s School of Public Health in 2007. Born to Vietnamese parents in Germany, Tam testified in Congress and had to go into hiding shortly after when ICE detained her parents.  She was pursuing a PhD in American Studies at Brown.
