With Friends Like That . . . . Kris Kobach on the Campaign Trail
Mother Jones has an informative profile on Professor Kris Kobach (UMKC), “the man beihind Arizona’s immigration law.” Among other things, the article notes that “Kobach strikes a measured tone” in discussing immigration. “But he’s attracted accolades from national conservatives who routinely inflame the right-wing base,” including Michelle Malkin and Tom Tancredo. Kobach is running in the GOP primary for Kansas secretary of state.
I think that it is fair to say that we will not see Kobach at the biannual immigration law teachers workshop in Chicago later this month. The workshop is designed to bring immigration law scholars and teachers together for careful analysis of immigration law scholarship and teaching issues.
