Reid Promises to Push DREAM Act in Lame Duck Congress
The Hill reports that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), in a re-election fight for his political life, vowed on Spanish-language television to bring the DREAM Act back for a vote in the lame-duck session. On the Univision program “Al Punto,” Reid was questioned by host Jorge Ramos on whether the vote would happen, win or lose on Tuesday. “The answer is yes,” Reid said.
Senator Reid would need Republican votes and, after Tuesday, that may be even harder than it has been over the last year.
