Border Vigilante Murderer Sentenced to Death

Earlier this week, an Arizona jury sentenced a second member of a border vigilante group to death for gunning down a man and his 9-year-old daughter during a home invasion. Jason Eugene Bush was sentenced to death for killing Raul Junior Flores and his daughter Brisenia Flores in 2009, during a home invasion in Arivaca, a town near the Mexico border. The jury had convicted Bush last month of first degree murder.

Prosecutors claimed the robbery was planned to raise money for the Minutemen American Defense, a group that sought to curb illegal immigration. The leader of the group, Shawna Forde, referred to in one news story as a “kid-killing Minutewoman,”  was sentenced to death in February for her role in the shootings.

Critics have claimed that the mainstream media has failed to report much about this case and the fact that members of an anti-immigrant group murdered two people in an apparent effort to raise money for the anti-immigrant cause.
