Nicky Diaz Honored
Fox News (and other news outlets) have reported that the former housekeeper of California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman was honored at an immigrant rights gala in Los Angeles on Thursday. According to the reports, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights honored Nicky Díaz Santillán, an immigrant from Mexico who worked for many years in Whitman’s home. Her employment and callous treatment of Diaz, became a heated issue in Whitman’s campaign for Governor and contributed to her loss to Governor Jerry Brown.
