Reynoso: To Address U.S. Immigration, Must Address Mexican Economy

Reynoso
Professor Cruz Reynoso
(UC Davis School of Law), the first Latino on the California Supreme Court, said this week that solving U.S. immigration problems begins by solving Mexico’s economic problems. Reynoso used a panel discussion at University of the Pacific to address the lack of a long-term economic plan developed by the two neighboring nations. Reynoso said the United States needs to work with Mexico on improving opportunities in Mexico. “If Mexicans can work in Mexico, “I think they’ll stay in Mexico, which is basically the only solution that will solve this problem,” he said.

Reynoso spoke at Pacific on Cesar Chavez Day.
