Only in America? Boxing Promoter Don King Addresses Immigration from Mexico to the United States

Many Americans, even if not boxing fans, have heard of flamboyamt boxing promoter Don (“Only in America”) KIng. Never one to avoid controversy in promoting a fight, King stepped in it in hyping a fight on Saturday night between two Mexican-American heavyweights, Chris Arreola and Eric Molina, in Texas.

Here is what King had to say:

“We even brought in a Mexican-American to give him a chance to get out and be at the front of the forefront. No more wetbacks running up and down picking the fruits and things. Now, we’re rolling, you know what I mean.”

Chris Arreola spoke in the ring by knocking out King’s fighter, Molina, in the first round. And he also got in the last word in the post-fight interview in calling King a racist.
