Immigration Clinics Provide DACA Assistance During Spring Break

Students from the University of Miami Law School, which has provided important services to immigrant communities, and Florida International University College of Law will spend spring break conducting Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) clinics in Naples, Tampa, Gainesville, and Orlando, Florida. They are partnering with law students and professors from Barry University, Florida A&M University, Ave Maria University, Stetson University and Florida Coastal School of Law.   Community activists and immigrant advocates from FL Dream, Students Working for Equal Rights, DREAMers’ Moms, the Florida Immigrant Coalition, and Own the Dream Campaign are collaborating on the project.  

Law school clinics across the country, including the UC Davis Immigration Law Clinic, have been providing workshops for potential DACA applicants since the program was unveiled by the Obama administration in the summer of 2012.
