Wait Times in Immigration Courts Increase in March

Wait times in the Immigration Courts continue to rise. According to the data through March 2013 obtained and analyzed by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC), the average number of days cases have been waiting has reached 555 days, up from 531 days at the end of FY 2012. The backlog again reached an all-time high, at 327,483 cases. Updated data through March show that ICE filings for new deportation orders continue below the pace of last year, and court dispositions have also slowed.
