Immigrant of the Day: Monty Hall (Canada)

Born in 1924 in Manitoba, Canada, Monty Hall moved to the United States in 1955. He worked as a host of TV shows and, in 1963, created the popular game show Let’s Make a Deal, which spawned a mathematical probability puzzle, the “Monty Hall Problem.” After 23 years with the show, Hall retired to focus on fund-raising for various charities.
