Top Conservative Organizations Send Letter Supporting Immigration Reform
WASHINGTON, DC – Three top conservative organizations released an open letter to Congressional leadership today urging them to put their own, conservative imprint on immigration reform legislation. The letter is signed by American Action Forum President Douglas Holtz-Eakin, Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist, and American Conservative Union Chairman Al Cardenas. The letter expresses support for immigration reform that secures our borders, allows for a market-driven future flow of legal immigrants, and provides a tough but humane process to earned legal status for those undocumented immigrants who wish to stay in the United States and continue to be productive members of society. As the letter states, the signees believe the House input in immigration reform legislation will “ensure that any final product has considerable conservative input, and that certain aspects of the Senate bill are markedly improved.”
