Immigrant of the Day: Pablo Sandoval (Venezuela)
Born in Venezuela, Pablo Sandoval, nicknamed “Kung Fu Panda, is a professional baseball player with the San Francisco Giants. He is a two-time All-Star and has won two World Series championships with the Giants. Sandoval hit three home runs in Game 1 of the 2012 World Series, becoming just the fourth person to hit three home runs in a World Series game, and was named the World Series Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Sandoval had three hits in the Giants’ victory over the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series last night.
