Nevada: Divided on Immigration
Nevada is a state divided on immigration.
Last week, the state’s Attorney General signed on to the 25-state lawsuit in opposition to President Obama’s November immigration action. What’s surprising is that the governor of Nevada opposed this action – despite the fact that he and the AG are both Republicans. The WSJ ran an op-ed yesterday in support of the AG’s move.
Interestingly, just last month, PBS Newshour ran another story about divides within Nevada families over immigration.
It is perhaps, therefore, not surprising that President Obama has made two of his significant announcements on immigration (January 2013 and November 2014) in this embattled state.
