The Ivy Wall: Undocumented Students at Harvard

Yes, there are undocumented undergraduates at Harvard.  Read about their lives and challenges in The Ivy Wall: Undocumented Students at Harvard:

“For undocumented Americans, a routine traffic stop could mean the end of life in the country. Finding steady work to support a family is nearly impossible without a social security number or a worker’s permit. Traveling on planes becomes an incredible risk, and traveling internationally is unthinkable. Affordable health care, like Obamacare, is largely inaccessible. Poor undocumented workers cannot qualify for federal benefits, like food stamps or welfare, despite paying taxes that help fund those programs.

For the parents of bright young students, the thought of funding a college education without federal grants can be so intimidating that many avoid the process altogether. And for the bright young students themselves, the entire college application process is a reminder―or a news flash―that they face challenging repercussions for something that they had no control over.”
