Final Week to Register for Immigration Law & Border Enforcement Summer Program
Immigration Law and Border Enforcement is one-week, three credit, course that will run from Sunday May 22 to Sunday May 29, 2016. It will be held in San Diego, California, and is co-sponsored by UC San Diego’s Center for Comparative Immigration Studies. I’ll be teaching the course along with Lauris Wren.
The course is open to law students around the country. It involves not just reading and lectures, but field trips: to the border (Monday), the U.S. consulate in Tijuana (Tuesday), an immigration detention center and immigration court (Thursday), as well as federal court (Friday). The program offers students the opportunity to meet with CBP officers, ICE lawyers, Department of State consular officials, and EOIR judges, as well as immigration attorneys and advocates.
Interested students should apply by April 15, 2016.
