It’s Much Harder To Immigrate To The U.S. Than It Is To Buy A Gun
You can probably file Esther Yu-Hsi Lee’s article It’s Much Harder To Immigrate To The U.S. Than It Is To Buy A Gun under things you already know. But it might just be the link your non-immprof friends and family need at this time.
Lee starts by citing presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s claim that “’thousands and thousands of people, many of whom have the same thought process as this savage killer’ are pouring into the country.” Despite this rhetoric, Lee notes that “it is much more difficult for immigrants to enter the U.S. than it is for a U.S. citizen — like the killer — to purchase the gun they need to commit atrocities.”
Preach.
I pray with all my heart that the response to the Orlando massacre will be gun control and not immigration restrictions. Lee’s article goes a long way toward prodding readers in that direction.
