#myLovingDay: How the Lovings’ trials paved the way for today’s multiracial families

As Loving Day on June 12 approaches, the Los Angeles Times has collected some fascinating insights from multiracial people.  Of course,  Mildred and Richard Loving got married in 1958, but in their home state of Virginia, they were convicted for marrying outside their races. It wasn’t until nine years later that the U.S. Supreme Court in Loving v. Virginia unanimously ruled that state bans on interracial marriage were unconstitutional.
