Law Student Lesley Sedano, Summary of Flores v. Lynch, Ninth Circuit, July 2016

In this memorandum, law student Lesley Sedano summarizes the Ninth Circuit’s opinion in Flores v. Lynch.  In an opinion by Judge Andrew Hurwitz, and joined by Judges Ronald Gould and Michael Melloy (sitting by designation from the Eighth Circuit), affirmed in part Judge Dolly Gee’s order allowing for the release of minors, booth accompanied and unaccompanied.  The release of adults was found to be outside  the scope of the settlement.
