Stories From The Dangerous Darién Gap: A Migrant Trail

A human skull serves as a warning to travelers in the Gap. Photo: Carlos Villalon, Panama, 2016.
The Darién Gap is a lawless stretch of jungle between Colombia and Panama, one that migrants from around the world risk crossing to get to the US. In this episode of WBUR/NPR‘s On Point, Pulitzer Center grantee Jason Motlagh speaks with host Sacha Pfeiffer and the IOM’s Leonard Doyle about the plight of these migrants. THis is a fascinating story about a part of the migrant/refugee trail about which I was unaware.
