Why Don’t They Just Get In Line?
Immigration hawks often criticized undocumented immigrants for not just getting in line like other immigrants. The truth of the matter is that for many undocumented immigrants there was no “line” for them to get in. And due to the per country ceilings, some of the lines are extremely (decades) long. The American Immigration Council has this Fact Sheet debunking the “they should get in line like everyone else” argument.
