Jennifer Wang writes this succinct summary for Forbes:

“From the proverbial garage in Silicon Valley to the boardroom of Wall Street, the immigrant American dreamers remain a key cog in the American entrepreneurialism machine. Forty-two slots on The Forbes 400 list are taken by billionaires (including three married couples) hailing from foreign lands; all but two made their own fortunes and a third are richer than the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, whose fortune slid $800 million to $3.7 billion. Overall, the foreign-born members of The Forbes 400 have a combined net worth of nearly $250 billion, and come from 21 different countries.”

The Hill reports in a similar vein that all six of the 2016 American Nobel laureates announced to date are immigrants.
