Anarchy in the UK? Foreigners in UK ‘Horrified’ by New Immigration Vision
There is lots going on in Europe on the immigration front. Brexit continues to have reverberations in the UK.
Bloomsberg reports that foreigners are expressing concern with the British government’s new immigration proposals, which are designed to further the spirit of Brexit. One of the government’s proposals would require companies to reveal how many non-British workers they hire; the idea is to pressure employers to put natives first. Home Secretary Amber Rudd earlier this week proposed to punish banks and landlords who fail to make checks on foreigners doing business with them. The proposals are part of a strategy to address concerns about immigration at the heart of the U.K.’s vote to quit the European Union.
