Federal Magistrate Judge to New Citizens: America, Love It or Leave It — ‘If you don’t like [Trump], you should go to another country’
Naturalization ceremonies often are marked by high emotion and inspirational speeches. One in San Antonio became a wee bit political earlier this week. And it is making the news worldwide. See here, here, here.
KENS5 in San Antonio reports on a U.S. citizenship ceremony in San Antonio in which a federal magistrate judge commented on the recent election of Donald Trump as President:
“I can assure you that whether you voted for him or you did not vote for him, if you are a citizen of the United States, he is your president,” John Primomo, a long-time federal magistrate judge in the Western District of Texas, said. “He will be your president and if you do not like that, you need to go to another country.”
The ceremony was at the Institute of Texan Cultures.
Magistrate Judge Primomo went on to criticize Americans protestors who carry signs saying ‘He’s not my president,’ including some in San Antonio. he lashed out against NFL players who take a knee during the national anthem.
