A MUST READ: Immigration and the Bully Pulpit by Jennifer M. Chacon
Professor Jennifer Chacón has a “must read” article on President Trump’s immigration executive orders in the Harvard Law Review Forum. Read it all but the conclusion says a lot: “Unfortunately, the new Administration’s imperviousness to the lessons of history doom the nation to repeat many of the same old inhumane and ineffective immigration policy choices of its past.”

“Exploring both historical context and recent rhetoric, Professor Chacón examines immigration enforcement in the Trump Administration. The Essay moves through the enforcement policies of the Clinton, Bush, and Obama Administrations to the executive orders and memoranda put out by the current Administration, analyzing “lessons learned — and not learned.” Chacón ultimately concludes that the Trump Administration is repeating failed immigration policies of the past.”
