President Trump Pardons Sheriff Joe
President Trump today pardoned former Maricopa County (Arizona) Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Arpaio was found to have intentionally refused to comply with court orders that he not engage in unlawful racial profiling of Latina/os in Arizona, U.S citizens as well as immigrants. N continued violation of numerous court orders, Arpaio continued his discriminatory law enforcement practices and even had an investigator tail the wife of the district court judge who ordered the injunction.
In the event there was any doubt, President Trump has made it clear that he is not interested in protecting the civil rights of Latina/os in the United States.
