Do the DREAMers Deported by President Obama Illustrate the Possible Fate of DACA Recipients?
Beth Caldwell on The Hill looks at the possibility that, with the dismantling of DACA, its recipients may ultimately be deported. Having done research for seven years on deportees to Mexico, Caldwell concludes
“Deportation almost always creates hardships in people’s lives, but it is exponentially worse for people who grew up as Americans. The United States should recognize the unique status of young people who have grown up as Americans. Deporting them runs counter to our country’s values.”
