Former New York Times immigration beat reporter, Julia Preston for the Marshall Project in “Lost in Court” looks at the Trump administration’s changes to the immigration court system. In an immigration detention center on the outskirts of Laredo, judges on temporary assignments were hearing cases in a courtroom hastily arranged inside its walls from March through December of 2017.
