On Monday the U.S. Supreme Court denied certiorari in a case in which the State of Arizona sought review of a U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit decision finding that the state could not deny driver’s license eligibility to recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). The U.S. Justice Department did not join the petition for high court review, which is understandable given all the DACA litigation out there (including many legal challenges to the rescission of DACA). No fan of immigrants, commentator Lou Dobbs criticized the DOJ decision:
