DACA Uncertainty May Undermine its Positive Impact on Wellbeing

In this policy brief from the Center on Poverty Research, Caitlin Patler, Erin Hamilton and Robin Savinar discuss new Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) on the impact of gaining temporary legal status on the psychological wellbeing of young, undocumented Latino immigrants in California. They find that early improvements in psychological wellbeing that occurred after receiving DACA have not been sustained over time, perhaps due to uncertainty about the policy’s future.
