Immigrants Are Good for Business? Immigrants are Good for Business!

Ali Noorani of the National Immigration Forum keeps me up on immigration news.  Here is one of his tidbits:

“Nearly all of the net new jobs in the U.S. economy come from startups, with most coming from fast-growing “unicorns” – companies valued at $1 billion or more. And as the National Foundation for American Policy reminds us: 55% of America’s startup companies valued at $1 billion or more have at least one immigrant founder. Bloomberg columnist Noah Smith reflects on a similar theme in a new book by Harvard Business School professor William Kerr, The Gift of Global Talent: How Migration Shapes Business, Economy & Society.
