Nearly 10-fold increase in immigration appeal costs, coming soon?
According to Buzzfeed, the Department of Justice is looking to propose a 10-fold increase in the cost of an immigration appeal. Specifically, the DOJ is proposing “that immigrants pay $975 to request an appeal of an immigration judge’s ruling and $895 to request a case be reopened or reconsidered with the Board of Immigration Appeals.” Currently, the fees for both requests stands at $110.
