Ilya Somin: Immigration Law Defies the American Constitution
In the Atlantic (“Immigration Law Defies the American Constitution”), law professor Ilya Somin criticizes the general immunization of the immigration laws from constitutional scrutiny. He sees an untenable “double standard” between the lack of constitutional review of immigration laws and policies and the ordinary review of other laws.
A professor at George Mason’s Antonin Scalia Law School, Somin, according to his faculty webpage, is working on a book entitled “Free to Move: Foot Voting, Migration, and Political Freedom (Oxford University Press, under contract).”
