Democrats Blast Trump’s Immigration Policies at Debate

At the Democratic presidential debate at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, the candidates took aim at President Trump’s immigration policies.  As Claire Hansen at U.S. News summarized, “Democrats praised immigrants and blasted President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.” There were no real surprises here, with the candidates expressing support for DACA, the President Trump has sought to rescind in a decision before teh Supreme Court.  “Billionaire philanthropist Tom Steyer said Trump is using immigration to inflame his base and said his policies are based in racism. `I think it’s important to note that this president is not against immigration, he’s against immigration by non-white people,'” billionaire Tom Steyer said.”

The sixth debate in the Democratic presidential primary series featured: Former Vice President Joe Biden, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Senator Amy Klobuchar, Senator Bernie Sanders, Businessman Tom Steyer, Senator Elizabeth Warren, and Entrepreneur Andrew Yang.
