Russian Finds Inventive Way to Swindle Migrants

As long as there are desperate people looking to cross borders, there will be people looking for new ways to take advantage of them.

A smuggler in Russia contrived of quite the scam.

According to the BBC, he built a fake Russia-Finland border, escorted five South Asian migrants across his “border” for a hefty fee (11K each), left them still in Russia, and absconded with their funds.

The migrants, naturally, are set to be deported. Amazingly, the con artist has be caught. He faces charges of fraud.
