LAT Compares Trump, Biden on Immigration

The LA Times headline is hilarious: Comparing Trump’s and Biden’s vastly different immigration policies. Vastly different? You don’t say.

As for Trump, the LAT nails it in two sentences. First, Trump, the paper notes, “has succeeded beyond even the nativist fever dreams of his 2016 run to remake the U.S. immigration system.” (Truth. Also, Thanks, Jeff Sessions.) Second, Trump’s immigration policy, the paper writes, is “a negation.” That is, Trump is focused on deterrence and general restriction of immigration both lawful and unauthorized.

So what’s up with Biden? According to the LAT, Biden would like to undo the policies of the Trump administration. (That’ll take some doing.) He apparently not only wants to return to Obama-era policies but to also create a pathway to citizenship for the undocumented in America.
