DHS Whistleblower Complaint Includes Surprising Insights on Immigration Policy
Brian Murphy, Principal Deputy Undersecretary of the Department of Homeland Security Office of Intelligence & Analysis, has filed a whistleblower reprisal complaint that has the internets abuzz.
You can read the full complaint here.
Some highlights:
- Mr. Murphy was asked about “known or suspected terrorists (‘KSTs’) entering the United States through the southwest border.” He received instructions to support the argument that large numbers of KSTs were crossing the southern border but he “declined to censor or manipulate the intelligence information.”
- Mr. Murphy believes former DHS head Kirtjen Nielsen presented Congress with “knowing and deliberate submission of false material information” about the number of KSTs crossing the southern border.
- In discussing intelligence reports about Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, DHS secretary Ken Cuccinelli stated “he wanted changes to the information outlining high levels of corruption, violence, and poor economic conditions in the three respective countries” and further “accused unknown ‘deep state intelligence analysts’ of compiling the intelligence information to undermine [the president’s] policy objectives with respect to asylum.”
