Immigration Reform Bill to Be Introduced Today

CNN reports that the White House announced that it will introduce an immigration bill that would create an eight-year path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.

Here’s what the bill, titled the US Citizenship Act of 2021, which has been floated about over the last few weeks, 9ncludes:

A pathway to citizenship

Terminology change:  The end of the use of the term “alien,” a topic which I wrote about in 1996.

Clear backlogs 

Changes to the legal immigration system
