PBS Documentary: American Exile

AMERICAN EXILE

a film by John J. Valadez & Carleen L. Hsu

Brothers Manuel and Valente Valenzuela both volunteered and fought in Vietnam. They returned decorated and disabled. Fifty years later they are among thousands of veterans being deported.  Together they don their uniforms for one last fight, to bring all the veterans back home.  It’s an odyssey that will leave one brother exiled in a foreign land, while the other will continue all the way to the White House.

American Exile is the remarkable journey of two Chicano brothers who helped change national policy, bringing thousands of veterans home, and reuniting families across America.
